HOW TO JOIN

1. CONTACT AN ADMINISTRATOR
Send an email to catskillstime@gmail.com and express your interest in joining the time bank. Let us know if a current Catskills Time member has referred you.

2. ATTEND AN ORIENTATION POTLUCK
Catksills Time members host regular orientation potlucks (approximately once a month) to welcome prospective members and answer questions about Time Banking. Attending an orientation session is a requirement before you can be accepted as a member—the in-person meetings ensure that all members have a shared understanding of Time banking, and also serve to foster new connections and maintain accountability. If you can’t make it to the next potluck, email catskillstime@gmail.com to make alternate plans with an administrator.

3. SET UP YOUR PROFILE
Once you attend an orientation potluck or meet with an administrator, you will be granted access to the online system so that you can develop your profile on the members-only site. Detailed instructions will be sent to you at that time.

4. BEGIN USING THE TIME BANK
Create a posting asking for a service you would like to receive, or respond to another member’s request. You don’t have to earn hours before spending them; the system allows you to go (a bit) into debt.

5. ATTEND POTLUCKS AND EVENTS
Part of the mission of Catskills Time is to build community, as friends, neighbors, and acquaintances will come together to form the core of the Time Bank. In addition to potlucks, Time Bank members may host swaps and other events for the Catskills Time community.
